Thanks, Jeff. Canada Geese, for better or for worse, are the one species that do turn up for a winter break on the south coast. For the last two years the range and numbers of other species have been very low along our two river estuaries - the Cuckmere and the Sussex Ouse. Clearly the weather up north hasn't been bad enough to drive them down south.

Thanks, John. I saw them coming from the west, beyond the sunset, and had just enough time to switch lenses, before they emerged from the Sun's glare. I took a series of shots - some with them lower to the water and some with the leaders in a very messy grouping.
