Moth caterpillars - East Dean - Sussex - 30.4.2015

Moth caterpillars - East Dean - Sussex - 30.4.2015
The Small Eggar caterpillar is the only one that I have found, so far, that has this protective web. However in pictures that I have seen, they do not have the two distinctive orange spots. Some photos seem to show orangey spots all along the back. Could they develop a few spots at a time?
