Newhaven Fort sea-level fortifications - 21.10.2014

Newhaven Fort sea-level fortifications - 21.10.2014
I only spotted this low profile building fairly recently. I assume that it is a fortification as the openings are angled like the Carnot wall at Shoreham Old Fort, along the coast.
You can see a view of the Shoreham fortifications at www.ipernity.com/doc/philsutters/26418683

, have particularly liked this photo

Since the Napoleonic Wars our part of the coast has not been captured. In earlier centuries the French raided Seaford and Newhaven several times. This 19th century fort was used in WW2 and was attacked from the air, but not captured. I know you meant 'captured' photographically, so this note is in fun!
