Old Grand Surrey Canal Bridge - perhaps
I am sure that somewhere the origin of this bridge is recorded, but it seems most likely that it was one of the footbridges that spanned the nearby Grand Surrey Canal. The route of the canal can be clearly seen running from west to east, about 100m south of this bridge's current location - if one looks at the aerial photo version of the map.
For a nineteenth century map of the area go to www.ipernity.com/doc/364457/26372743
and to complete the canal's route please see www.ipernity.com/doc/364457/26372745
This area of Burgess Park has been due for redevelopment, but as I haven't been there recently I don't know what has or hasn't happened.
