Snowberry Clearwing Moth (Hemaris diffinis) on Lilac

Snowberry Clearwing Moth (Hemaris diffinis) on Lilac
The magic happened today !

Late this afternoon with 25mph gusting winds.... the Snowberry Clearwing Moths (Hemaris diffinis) and an American Lady (Vanessa cardui) were drawn to the glorious perfume of the Lilacs wafted in the wind.

The hard thing was to get a picture when nothing was staying still !

EXPLORED !

Among my favorite insects! Do you also observe the Clear-winged Hummingbird Moths, Hemaris Thisbe?

Hello TigerHead !

We see the White Lined Sphinx Moth (Hyles lineata) which are also the Hummingbird type of moths.

They were active last week and will be back when my Moonflowers bloom. There are several pics in my albums
