Here's the transformer pole that had the feed swapped around to the back side of the pole. If they could have taken a few more minutes, they could have fixed the awkward routing of the drop to the lighting can and not needed the ridge pin.

That would look a bit neater with the cutout on the other side of the arm.

Maybe they did that to add a third transformer in the future. I would have still added the second wire to the other side though.

It probably was the plan when the line was 3-phase from the south, but it's not likely given the new line is only open Y. The business served by this pole is a used furniture store / junk shop.
