Otter Tail Power - Bottineau, ND

Otter Tail Power - Bottineau, ND
A view of the old Bottineau Downtown 41.6kV/4160V sub. It was originally erected in 1927 as a 23.9/13.2/2.4kV transmission and distribution substation, replacing the DC plant that was just to the east.

This sub was removed after the distribution system was rebuilt to 12.5kV.

I wonder if any of that wooden framework is original?

If not original 1927 construction, then likely from the 1949 rebuild of the transmission to 41.6kV.

That pic was from quite a while back, so those braces were probably just replenishment of stock for repairs.

I still love that small green distribution pole with the capacitor bank from seeing it 8 months ago.
