There are many sand pits around Sulejówek.
Some of them are one hundred years old, remembering times when sand and clay (from numerous clay pits) were used to rebuilt Warsaw and nearby towns after WWI.
Some are deep, some are shallow, all are dry with trees struggling to survive at their borders.

This time I went there too late. Light was gone, the forest was dark.
I made three shots juggling with f5.6-8 and 1/30-1/15 sec, because I did not have my tripod with me.

I plan to go there again earlier and with better equipment, so there will be more shots from there, hopefully better :)
Thank you!

Oui, un arbre qui semble vouloir quitter cet endroit peu favorable à son épanouissement... Une ambiance triste

More so (sad) because of lack of sunlight.
Thank you!

A lovely image, despite your lack of a tripod.

I like this one very much! The structures around the roots and the bright lights and the diffusion up there are wonderful.

Thank you, Leon!
It's the best of three shots taken on that day. The two others are not exactly presentable ;)

Managing the Yashica at 1/15s without a tripod is a challenge - very well done ! Wonderful image!

It is frustrating when one can see the image to take, but the light isn't there. Perhaps you can find the spot again? Or, I wonder if you played with the contrast and lightened this just a little if it would please you more? Still, the photo is a good one - maybe just not what was in your mind's eye.

This place is actually quite close to where I live.
I've been there so many times that I've become reticent to take more photos there.
I have to find another place like that but with different trees, different roots, different shapes...

I understand that feeling of being to a place so many times. But I keep taking photos of those places anyway. Maybe I'm still looking for perfection? But I also would love to have new places to go.
