Frames within frames...........very cleverly composed. I like the flowers in the foreground as well. The honey-coloured stone of the window frames is very nice.

We feel home.
Not ours but anyway, home.

The property belongs to a national charity which preserves old buildings, stately homes and other heritage buildings. Members visit free, others have to pay an entrance fee.

Nice composition and a lovely capture Maggs,, I used to repair leaded lights like these many years ago.

Did you have to wear protective gloves? I can't remember if lead can be absorbed through the skin.

So you have been there !

Yes in January '18. Only stayed the one night in the motorhome camping and had a wander round the castle. Amazing views over the salt pans and the border, great defensive site!! Not so keen on the Inquisition exhibit tho' - made me think twice about sitting down in a chair without checking for spikes for quite a while!
Then spent a few nights in VRdSA as LWD needed a Vet! Also had a few nights camping Odeleite and Alcoutim area before heading to the south west corner and the Atlantic coast.
Can't wait to revisit!

Yes it's lovely to live in: except for the fuel bills and all the visitors traipsing through!!!

It needs to be viewed large to get the best view of the inside, a nice flower border

I agree you see more of the inside viewed large. I haven't been inside as the house only reopened recently and I'm waiting til all the holiday trippers clear off!
