Algol, der Teufelsstern, ist der klassische Veränderliche Stern. Hier im Maximum. Im Minimum ist Algol ungefähr so hell wie der hellere Stern links oben. M34 ist eine offene Sternhaufen, die Sterne in so einem Haufen entstehen astronomisch gesehen gleichzeitig.
