Taken at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire, on a beautiful sunny day last month. Brent Geese are a common sight here at this time of year.

Please view large..........thanks for looking :-)
Taken using my 40-150mm lens at 150mm with a 1.4 teleconverter.........giving me a reach of 210mm. I was shooting from inside my car which acted as a hide.

Two images from me today, taken yesterday afternoon during one of my "mystery tours" along the shores of Chichester Harbour, West Sussex.
If you view this large and look closely you can see that the Egret has plucked a dragonfly out of mid-air!
I have a couple more shots of this lovely bird which I'll post in a day or so.
Mother Swan with Cygnets

I thought it was about time I posted a photo of something cute and fluffy. I think this probably qualifies.
Taken during a walk at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire, the day before yesterday. This swan was guiding a family of eight cygnets along the shore at low tide.
Another look at the cygnets in the PiP. Enjoy!

Captured in Bosham Harbour, West Sussex between the showers! Another image in the PiP.
Thanks for looking, have an enjoyable day and a lovely weekend.
Just Swanning About!

Taken last Thursday at Broadmarsh Coastal Park near Havant, Hampshire. The sun was very harsh and difficult for photographing white birds, but I think this one turned out OK.
I like the way it has it's eyes closed while it sorts out an itch on the top it's head :-))

Taken on the nature reserve at Langstone Harbour, during a walk last Tuesday morning.
In the PiP there is a shot of 10 other Little Egrets at the reserve. There are several collective nouns for Egrets, two of most common are a "Congregation" or a "Wedge". Personally, I like Wedge :-)

Spotted this beautiful bird perching in a tree above the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. This is a popular spot for Egrets, there is nearly always some there. You need a long lens though as they're some distance away. I took this at the very limit of my 100-400 zoom lens and still needed to crop the image.
A Bevy of Swans

Taken yesterday afternoon in Chichester Harbour near Chidham, West Sussex. The village of Bosham is in the far background.
More Swans in the PiP (My wife was feeding them). She had to get away quickly when she ran out of food, as they were chasing her up the bank :-))
Swanning around.

A rather grubby looking swan and it's reflection on the edge of Broadmarsh Coastal Park in Hampshire.
Better viewed large, I think. Thanks for looking.
I shall be going away on a short break to visit family later today. I'm taking my laptop though, and if I have time I shall continue to post my daily photos. I shall also try and visit your photo streams, but will probably just leave a yellow star instead of commenting, just to let you knowI've been around.

Taken at low tide showing some beached boats and a couple of locals feeding the birds, mainly swans and gulls. I only managed a couple of shots before it started to rain quite heavily, as it had been doing on and off all day.
Another shot in the PiP.
Thanks for looking. The main image is best viewed large if you have time.

A much overlooked but quite beautiful bird. The light on the water was lovely and it seemed to be admiring it's own reflection.
Best viewed large, on black, if you have the inclination.
Hopeful...........but disappointed!

During a recent visit to Victoria Park in Southsea, I couldn't resist taking a photo of this gull..........it was standing on the table next to where my wife and I and a a friend were sitting, having a coffee and a chat, just staring at us.
It obviously thought we had food, but we didn't.............and even if we had, it was still going to be disappointed :-)))

In Chichester Harbour.
Sadly 30 swans were found dead in the harbour last week. The authorities say bird flu is to blame :-(
Some more swans in the PiP.
