Sea Shells
I thought I'd save a few shells from my last still-life image and post them as a simple macro shot. Taken on a table in my garden in natural light. Craft paper used as a background.
Also for the Macro Dreams ✨ challenges group: Multiples, Circles or Curves, Lines Stripes or Ridges, Shell.
Thanks for looking!
Old Winchester Hill, Hampshire.

On top of the ridge there is the remains of an Iron Age hill fort. From this viewpoint anyone approaching could be easily seen. The ramparts rear upwards for the best defence. The fort is surrounded by a bank and a ditch.
If you can't see the fort, roll your cursor over the image for a guide.
Harvest Time

Taken yesterday afternoon near Funtington, West Sussex.
There's another image from a slightly different perspective in the PiP.
Thanks for looking!
Seaside Thoughts
Taken in natural light on a table in my garden. I quite like this but I'm not sure about the background........but it's the nearest one I could find in my props that looked vaguely "seaside" like.
The sand is from some we bought many years ago for my grandchildren to use when they visited.......amazingly it was still in a plastic box in a spare bedroom. The shells were with it but neither me or my wife can remember where they came from except for the sea urchin shell which we got in Malta in the early 70s (an earlier photo of it here: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/49553224 )
Café Artwork
This lovely bit of artwork was on the wall in a coffee shop/bakehouse in Chichester, West Sussex. The staff were quite happy for me to take a photo of it and of course my wife and I just had to have some coffee and cake while we were there :-)
Wasp
Drinking out of one of my bird baths. I seem have lots of these in the garden this year, and they're not the Common Wasp I normally see. I think they are the species called the German Wasp - Vespula Germanica.

These are the components of a cheap necklace found in a charity shop. The images are around twice life-size.

Still Life..........Garlic
Taken in my garden in natural light on a table with a piece of white cardboard as a background. I have a wooden fence near my back door against which I place a small folding table and I can then attach the background to the fence with drawing pins. It only works when it's dry and sunny with no wind though.
There is another image in the PiP if you have time to look.
Funnily enough..........I didn't eat these immediately after the photo was taken :-)))
Southsea Rose Gardens Collage

A collage to show off some more of the lovely roses in the Southsea Rose Gardens.
Another View from Old Winchester Hill

It's all looking a bit parched..........and that will have got worse after this photo was taken at the beginning of the month.
It was looking a lot greener when I took a photo from pretty much the same place six years ago, (from a little bit higher up the hill and more to the right): www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/42400930

Buffed-tailed Bumblebee on Seaside Daisy

Taken in my garden.
Seaside daisy, or to give it it's proper name Erigeron glaucus, is also known as seaside fleabane, or beach aster.

Taken on a small table in my garden in natural light. White cardboard as a background.
I ate the subject matter after the photo was taken :-)
Meet Boris
Boris is my new photographic model.
Initially, he was reluctant to pose for me - I have no idea why :-)))
There's a couple of marginally more sensible images in the PiPs.
I have no recollection of taking these photos, but I've been assured that no rules were broken and I have no intention of resigning!
Thanks for looking. Have a lovely day and an enjoyable weekend.
Little Egret
Spotted this beautiful bird perching in a tree above the Mill Pond at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire. This is a popular spot for Egrets, there is nearly always some there. You need a long lens though as they're some distance away. I took this at the very limit of my 100-400 zoom lens and still needed to crop the image.

This one is in a large pot in my front garden..........it currently has 21 flower heads. Apparently they like to have their roots restricted, so grow better in pots. The bees love it..!!
