If the bad weather is keeping you home, you're sure making the most of it with beautiful pictures like these two Keith. The soft colour tones are gorgeous and even from a distance you have captured the insect with superb detail. The buddleia also looks beautiful.

My purple buddleia flowers are dying off very quickly. I don't know if it's because of the damp weather, but they are not attracting any insects or butterflies yet!

These huge hoverflies have been visiting my buddleia for a few years now, this year I've seen four at once! They're a bit late arriving this year, but didn't let me down. They're surprisingly easy to photograph as they move very slowly once they've landed and stay on the same flower for ages!

Coincidentally, my purple buddleia have done the same as yours.....flowering for only a day or so and then turning brown. I suspect the wet weather too.

My fave for the PIP, seem she is heading to you… but is your camera (or you) a juicy flower? LOL, joking of course.

Thanks Isabel...........when I use PiPs I always find it difficult to decide which one shout be the main image.

It was moving towards me...........but very slowly. They're quite easy to capture because they are so slow, but they also seem to spend ages on the flower before moving on.

Buddleia (which we don't have here) are told to be a treat for bees and butterflies too.

The common name for Buddleia in England is the Butterfly Bush. I have purple and white ones in the garden,.
