A view across Emsworth Harbour, Hampshire

A view across Emsworth Harbour, Hampshire
Taken last Tuesday, which was a beautiful summers day. I don't know how they managed to get planning permission for that white house........it doesn't fit in with the rest of the houses at all :-(

Another image in the PiP. Thanks for looking and have a splendid Sunday.

It does seem to stand out like a sore thumb Keith! These white boxes seem to be all the rage, but not my favourite architecture for sure. Even so, I love this picture with the small boats in the foreground, and the more traditional houses along the harbour.

Of course, I love the PiP as well :-) Have a great, sunny Sunday Keith.

Very nice indeed Keith. You are lucky over there to see any lip-service to planning permissions for fitting into a community. Up here in Oldham -that does not see to exist at all. Great swan too.

Thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

Thank you Herb..............I think that house is a blot on the landscape! It sounds like your planners care even less about their environment!

I fully agree with you with regard to the white house, Keith. It stands out like a sore thumb. Anywhere else and I'm sure it would look good - but it's nothing like the other houses. ]

With the PiP it really shows how much algae is around there and it looks as if someone is going to have to clear it up from that boat, before they try and move with the propellers.

You managed to use the white house to balance out the boats, your photo is perfectly composed and beautiful!
I agree the white sticks out like a sore thumb among the brick but what bothers me more is the funny structure it has on top;-)

Yes - that house! There is a place in Norfolk, cannot remember where, and the folks that live there have built a large box like this. It is brown and lies behind a hedge and trees, but the council might make them take it down!

A lovely calm scene though.

I don't live in Emsworth (way out of my price range), but it definitely doesn't fit in and painting it white doesn't help..!!

Glad you like the scene though............thanks very much.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting Jean Paul. I suspect if it was DT who applied for planning permission they'd have told him to "get out of town"..!!

The white house is an effective source of photographic tension, though. And it establishes a leading line with the white boats on the left.
