Langstone Harbour, Hampshire
Taken mid-morning yesterday which was another cold day. This is about as sunny as it got.
The history of the silhouetted wreck is unknown, but is it is likely to be the remains of a cargo vessel that would have transported milled goods from the Old Mill, which is just out of shot on the left.
If you view large, you can just make out the silhouetted shape of a cormorant on the end of the wreck (which I didn't see until I got the image on my computer :-)

Keith Burton club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne clubThe wreck probably didn't even have a name, they were very basic vessels apparently, sort of barge-like.
I was surprised to see the cormorant...........I didn't spot it fly in (or out)........but I didn't have the right lens for a shot anyway.
Cheers. Herb
Keith Burton club has replied to Herb Riddle clubIn days long gone by, this harbour would have been full of boats carrying stuff from the mill, plus oysters, mussels and winkles plus coal.

I used to walk it regularly, but those days are long gone. I have reached the stage of my life where the further something is from the car, the less photogenic it seems :-)))
