Brent Geese in Flight
Taken yesterday morning during a good long walk around Farlington Marshes, a nature reserve near Portsmouth, with a good friend.
Although it was sunny, it was very cold and the wind was ferocious. We mostly saw geese and ducks. We did see a Kestrel out hunting, and I tried several shots, but it was too far away and my photos were all out of focus.
The marshes were quite boggy and wet and I got home covered in mud. A good morning out though and I'm still feeling the effects :-)
I was using my 100-400mm zoom lens. I had been thinking of selling it due to finding it difficult to get good results, but I've decided to keep it for a while and keep practicing.

Getting old I suppose :-(
Keith Burton club has replied to Annemarie clubAh to fly without my worries of an upset stomach - haha.
Keith Burton club has replied to raingirl clubI've always disliked being in an aeroplane, but I made a lot of trips in helicopters back in the day and I was OK with that. Strange isn't it? I try and avoid heights of any sort nowadays :-)
raingirl club has replied to Keith Burton clubMaybe helicopters felt closer to flying like a bird! I used to twirl a lot, dancing, on play structures etc - now I can't spin even once without getting too dizzy. I guess I just have to enjoy watching others spin now.
Well done. Herb
