How lovely it looks in the square format Keith. A beautiful sky and you have captured the gulls perfectly. I was watching two birds trying to fly into the winds on Friday...I don't know why, but they weren't giving up!!

Oh, isn't this just beautiful, Keith. You know, it's "easy" to take pictures of some birds because they're so common and available for pictures. This kind of picture is not hard to take of seagulls, though think about it--what other birds are so photographable this way? Not too many. In any event, I think we (or I, anyway) tend to disregard these opportunities because of their "easy access = boring/average" but it's just not true, is it? I have the picture in my current presentation that you so sweetly commented on that you enjoyed very much, and I feel the same way about this image too. The birds with the clouds behind them, I immediately fill in the the blanks...the smell of the ocean...the crash of the waves, the wind whipping my hair around, granules of sand pattering against me...the feeling of freedom and expanse. It's wonderful.

Sorry to hear you've been kept inside because of storms -- but for the sake of your own safety and your camera too, it's for the best, isn't it? Me? I haven't been out with my camera since we got home...in mid-OCTOBER! Sounds crazy but we don't really feel the need to get out in these cold months and this way I save up my photographic energy for our trip. Which, by the way, starts on March 1! Keith, we'll be out until mid-October, can you believe that? We'll only be home for about 2 wks in early July. This trip will be taking us OUT of Oregon! California, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, back to Oregon and home! Plenty of time for pictures!

Anyway, thank you so much for all of your comments...they are such a bright light for me! I'm so happy that you enjoy my pictures so much, it really makes my day. I am going to take some time to look though your current offerings and I hope that you don't mind that I will probably only leave stars for many--want you to know that I saw the picture though!

Ok, I'm off! Thanks again for your awesome comments and...your inspiration and support! And of course, your fantastic photography! Have a great day!

EDIT: Heh...I couldn't resist leaving comments...and adding links...heh...you're irresistible! :)

Thank you so much Janet...........I'm pleased you like this one and understand why I took it. I love gulls and they're a joy to watch and photograph. Your next trip sounds as if it will be brilliant. I hope everything works out as you've planned. I'm looking forward to your photos already.

Take care and be safe!

Die Möwen genießen ihre Freiheit, und fast hat es den Anschein, als hätten sie im rasanten Flug den Wolkenwirbel erzeugt. Ein gut eingefangener Moment!
