A squat sparrow -well almost :) Used to see a lot of these about but not so many now, unless I think they are all sparrows. Very nice capture as per usual.

Keep safe. Herb

I have looked at this full screen Keith and the detail is so sharp and superb, especially against the blurred background. I'm surprised you kept this one from us for so long!

I think this poor chap was a tad chilly - he's all fluffed up. I agree with everything that Rosa said.
Excellent work Keith!

I imagine you had to compose this quickly, and you probably did a better job than I would do with a fair amount of time. A fine capture, too.

Ik zag deze hier gisteren ook in een plantsoen midden in het drukke verkeer--beesten komen steeds dichter bij de mensen

Although these are normally shy birds, they've obviously learned that parks mean people - and people mean food..!!

Thanks for dropping by Fred.

Heckenbraunelle :))) in german....first I thought it´s a sparrow...the little drop on its beak is wonderful and again...the bokeh!

They're often mistaken for sparrows Tanja, as they're quite similar. Glad you like this little beauty! Thanks very much.

Heckenbraunellen haben dieses Jahr in meinem Garten gebrütet. Die Weibchen und Jungvögel kann man leicht mit Sperlingen verwechseln.
Sehr schön vor dem Hintergrund freigestellt!
