Hubert was my great grandfather's name and he was a seminal influence on me (he died aged 97 when I was 20). We used to have great conversations about everything under the sun!
Including cricket (well oK his uncle plaid for England), astronomy, plate tectonics, tropical fish, fly fishing, bee-keeping, ... he took up a new hobby or interest every year but kept up with all his old ones. If I had 10% of his energy I would be satisfied!

It's a really old-fashioned name..........but it has a nice ring to it..............perfect for grandfathers!

A lovely story Andy.................he sound's like a real character! I wish I had a similar tale to tell, I never knew my great-grandparents :(
