This really just a record shot. Taken at the far end of my 100-300mm zoom lens and a huge crop. The nearest I've got to a decent shot yet..!!

A very decent shot. I've yet to get anything like this with my vulture friends. But then I only have a small digital and a mobile phone!

Cheers Andy............I'd love a longer lens but I can't justify the cost at the moment given the relatively small amount of time I spend shooting wildlife. I'll just have to keep figuring out how to get closer..!!

An international difference -- when I saw this I thought "That's not a buzzard, it's a hawk." I did some googling, though, and It turns out that in the New World buteos are considered hawks while in the Old World they're considered vultures. Here, if it's white underneath it's a hawk.

A great shot either way.

I often see Buzzards but not often with any light on them - this is a good shot taking advantage of the light on the underwing

Thanks Colin.........not much skill involved though, just in the right place at the right time.
