An example of the ironwork which is being cut off Eastbourne Pier during the refurb. I love rusty stuff and was hoping to be able to poke around a bit more........unfortunately the area has security fencing around it and I was only able to shoot through the the holes in the fence.

, Polyrus, autofantasia, Eunice Perkins and 4 other people have particularly liked this photo

Thanks for all your comments folks............don't get your hopes up about it being re-used though, I got the distinct impression it was just being dumped :-(

A good conversation piece and a great photo Keith.
There must be a subtle difference between refurbishment and restoration. It will be a crying shame if this ironwork is being terminated.

Thanks Neil.........it certainly looked to me as if it was being scrapped. It was just dumped on the shingle behind a security fence with a load of other ironwork and wood. Most of the ironwork looked as if it had been lopped off with an angle-grinder!
