This week in SSC:
"Signs of Spring"
What better sign of spring is there than flowers and ducks? :)) I found these flowers at the nursery and for a bonus, I saw my first "Ring Neck" duck on the pond this week. I love his purple head! Sure signs that spring is on its way! (PIPs)

Eye test: Can you tell which bunch of daffodills I was focusing on? If not, you might need to get your eyes checked. ;-)
The great thing about daffodils is that you only have to plant them once. Then every year they will be coming up!

This is an Amaryllis bulb that I got for Christmas. It came in a box with a ceramic pot to plant it in. Unfortunately, the bulb had already started growing in the box and it had a flower almost blooming. The stalk was curved and it didn't look real happy. My husband said I should just throw it away get another one but I wanted to give it a chance since it was trying so hard. I planted it and propped it up so it could straighten itself out by growing toward the light. It did enthusiastically and produced four beautiful flowers. Then this amazing plant continued with a second stalk of 4 flowers. It's been a non-stop show for over a month and I'm enjoying it each day. You can see another pic in the PIP where it looks more like its deep red color.

"Water Droplets"
I was in luck the other morning. We had a good rain and then the sun came out so there were lots of water droplets on everything!
This is one of my favorite geraniums that I got this summer. It is just loaded with flowers and covered with rain drops. I used my new Sigma 60mm f2.8 lens with a couple of Meike extension tubes for this shot.

Flowers SOOC (Straight Out of Camera)
I had fun with my flowers this week. :)
This week we really had to pay attention to what we were doing before pressing the shutter button. This was a good thing and made me aware of what I could do to improve my images without having to resort to post-processing like I now realize I usually do. I also found some settings in my camera that I didn't know were there. All in all, a good learning experience.
