Rainy day on the Tay.

Rainy day on the Tay.
Still in the doldrums but the kitchen had to be cleaned and disinfected so set the kitchen timer to see if I could speed up a bit and I did. Packed the jigsaw away. It's been sitting untouched for a week so I don't think it's been a success. There will be somebody I can give it to who will enjoy it.
Did a quick check on my bank account and everything went pear shaped. The screen froze and I couldn't log out. Had to close the screen down then try to log back in but I couldn't. I wasn't allowed to access my account. Phoned the bank, eventually was transferred to the right place for help, waited in a long queue and while there my grocery delivery arrived. Transferred most of it before I got to the head of the queue and the grocery guy was very understanding and helpful. Then there was a long nightmarish effort to get me back into my account which eventually succeeded. I had to hang up as the bank was sending me a once only code to complete things. This didn't work and I got a message to try again later.
Shortly after the phone rang and it was Andy. Did I know my front door was open with my groceries inside it. Gave him the whole saga which was good as it calmed me down and he's coming on Sunday to put up my house number.
Took myself off to Newburgh in the rain for a photo then had a little walk in Heatherhall Woods. Tried again with the one off code and this time was given it. Whew ! What a horrible waste of time it all was. However I've made a note of what eventually got us back in just in case it ever happens again.

A featureless sky certainly captures the mood of a dull and cold day Jean.

Wet and misty has its beauty in a picture Jean, as we see here.
Oh for the days you could just walk into a bank! I have had those one time txt codes, but I have to go to the end of the garden to get a mobile signal! I'm sure life gets more complicated!!
Happy Thursday.

I find online banking very stressful too, Jean. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that Amazon had taken £7 put of my account for belonging to Amazon prime! Now I hate Amazon and very rarely order anything from there unless I have to. Then to top that off my bank charged me £12 for not paying the £19 'debt' off at the end of the month. There's was nothing for it but to go into the bank to sort all that out. I have now been recompensed for the £19 and have phoned Amazon and they have cancelled my Prime account. I wish the bank manager still lived in my wardrobe, as all of this took me about 24 hours to sort out.

The Tay is looking rather silvery here. I'm sure that William McGonagall would agree. ;-)))

It's maddening how long it all takes. Amazon are very bad about Prime. You can easily subscribe to it without realising. It happened to me once.

Despite the rain and grey skies the light in this shot is lovely. I like the way you've composed it too.........the boat is nicely placed in the scene and I love the golden colour of the reeds. The dark foreground contrasts well the the rest of the frame. Love it..!!

My wife popped into the bank a day or so ago to ask them to re-issue her debit card as it kept getting turned down for no apparent reason. Despite the fact the card was in her name and she knew the PIN number they wanted photo I.D. from her........she does not have a passport or a driving licence. It was becoming so complicated she eventually gave up. As it is a joint account I'll now have to go in with her and see if they'll let me vouch for her. Ridiculous..!!

Grrrr....... I can sympathise. I am cross at a lot of firms at the moment. We seem to have to jump through more and more hoops while they engage in things like auto renewal etc. which I regard as sharp practise.

It sounds like a dreadful day, Jean. Those websites with "we'll send a security number" are an absolute pain! Anyway, your rainy day image really has made up for it - lovely.
