I was sat there, when someone (speaking for themselves) was like: "Omigad", and I was like: "Yeah, that's the lifestyle for me".

He's very probably right.

A month or two ago I saw a picture of yours taken in a village in, I think, Buckinghamshire. (Beginning with "D"?). You recommended the place and I said that I must look it out. Can you remember where this was?

Glorious lighting every day this week - wonderful skies - but no opportunities to make use of it.

Thanks. With or without daffs, there's little or nothing to take in Great Doddington itself, but the waterways to its SW look interesting and given a suitable day I can do a circular walk via Castle Ashby passing that mill.

I'm consumed with desire to turn the clock back to 19/12/2010 and get that picture, which will never again be possible to do. But having looked in my diary to see what I was in fact happening that day, perhaps I'll leave the clock be.

Last night's forecast for Northampton: Partly sunny. Plan: Do Gt. Doddington walk, albeit a weekend.

This morning's (07:00) forecast for Northampton: Overcast until 15:00 or remainder of day. Plan: Stay at home. Ho hum.

I will be passing through on Monday if you want to wave to me.
It would be fun to get a bus window shot of Mr Bean!

Howard Somerville club has replied to Isisbridge club
Tell me the bus route and I'll fix a life-size Mr Bean cutout to a lamppost where you'll see it.

If you really want to know what I look like nowadays, here I am (centre). It was recorded in Reading on Wednesday; I was wearing my wedding suit, which still fits.

Are you sure that's you? It doesn't look much like that chap in the boat.

All being well, I should be on the X47 northbound, passing GD at approximately 13:10.

Yes, unfortunately I am sure. No one looks the same forever, alas.

Where is the X47 taking you?

You don't need to go by bus. The police will take you there.

I think most prisoners travel in a sweatbox.

Between courtrooms and prisons, yes. But when they pick you up from home, it'll be in an ordinary police car.

They won't be taking me to Great Doddington, though, as I haven't transitioned yet.

Jail (gaol) must be where any heavy drinker wants to be, and to spend his life behind bars.

I've now realised that the church wasn't at Great Doddington anyway: it was Earls Barton.
A never-again shot, as the light was wrong this time, the daffies gone and the sky not blue,
and to cap it all, you could hardly see the church for the trees.

All Saints Church, Earl's Barton

Isisbridge club has replied to Howard Somerville club
That's the one. I was looking upwards to the tower, with a blue and yellow flag full out against a clear blue sky and complemented by the yellow daffies on the bank below, the whole scene bathed in golden late-afternoon April sunlight. It would have been one of my best shots, if that little brat hadn't been occupying the photographer's seat at the front. I have now learnt my lesson: to insist on always taking a spare front seat even when someone else is sitting there like (as though) they own both of them.

I was hoping to get a second try this time, but the light was all wrong on the way back, and I could hardly see the church anyway, with the trees now in leaf. And I won't have any need to make that journey next April, because by then the wrongly convicted prisoner will be freed.

I'm having a problem with my batteries failing me, despite seeming to be fully charged. This time I had total failure on ALL my spare batteries, which caused me to miss Northampton in a perfect north-facing light with interesting clouds. I then remembered I had a spare pack of precharged ones, which saved the rest of the day, though I didn't catch much else worth having. I'll wait to see whether the PREcharged will REcharge.

1. as though HE OR SHE OWNS both of them

2. Ah, so you go there as a prison visitor. Tell us the story one day.

3. Taken in 1983:

Earls Barton

4. If the weather holds, I'll be up there tomorrow.

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Try cleaning the contacts inside the battery compartment.
