... so sieht eine Badelandschaft im Inneren des Wüstenlandes Oman aus.
Es gibt keine Flüsse, Seen, Bäche. Aber erstaunlich viel glasklares Süßwasser in den Wadis.
Tatsächlich regnet es ca. 3 Monate im Jahr (ca. von März bis Mai), ein feiner, ununterbrochener Nieselregen, der in den Gebirgsregionen sofort vom Gestein "aufgesaugt" wird und sich in unterirdischen Höhlen sammelt bzw. die umliegenden Täler überflutet. Davon lebt letztlich die Landwirtschaft des Landes (Palmen, Gemüse, Viehzucht). Über ein raffiniertes Kanalsystem (Faladsch) - ähnlich den Levadas auf Madeira - wird das wertvolle Wasser weiterverteilt.
