The Fountain Of Life

The Fountain Of Life
Located in historic New Harmony, Indiana, this fountain was erected to the memory of Jane Blaffer Owen’s daughter Carol, who died in 1979, at a young age. Carol’s Garden is a memorial garden and it was dedicated in 1982, and the Fountain of Life is the centerpiece of the garden and is open to the public. The garden was designed by Jane Blaffer Owen, Carol’s mother, and the peaceful fountain and its two accompanying benches were made with Indiana limestone by Sculptor David Rogers of Bloomington, Indiana.

For the Saturday Self-Challenge group, whose theme this week was to photograph a "Fountain."

For those of you who couldn't find a fountain near you, I did a little research and was amazed to find there were several fountains located near where I live that I had never heard about before. This week's SSC entry and the four other fountains below were some I had not heard of until this week.

Das ist wohl ein Übersetzungsthema- fountain auf Englisch umfasst auch Brunnen, nicht nur Springbrunnen, z.B.drinking fountain-Trinkbrunnen.

Ja, in Deutsch wird oft besser differenziert, manchmal gibt es im englischen keine Entsprechung für deutsche Worte. Deshalb habe ich gesucht, siehe den Link.

Im Deutschen unterscheidet man zwischen „Brunnen“ als Oberbegriff und „Fontäne“ als Bauart eines Brunnen. In Englisch ist "Fountain" der Oberbegriff – dass wusste ich nicht.
