The Crucifixion

This is a detail of the painting "The Crucifixion," by Diego Velasquez. I took it from an illustrated Bible I have. It goes to show how Jesus Christ was crucified on a cross and then three days later was resurrected. That is why the holiday of Easter exists. Anything else is just a distraction and takes away from the true message of Easter.

There are a lot of religious holidays that people try to get changed to secular themes, but that is wrong. If people don't like religious holidays, they should invent their own for some other date and celebrate that.
