Have A Drink On Me (Black and White)

Have A Drink On Me (Black and White)
This is my shot for this week's theme for the Saturday Self-Challenge. The theme was "Glass in Black and White."

I took my shot, converted it to black and white and didn't see any difference. I hope it worked. To see the original shot, there is a picture in a picture in the upper left corner.

Valfal, Heide, Roger Bennion, aNNa schramm and 8 other people have particularly liked this photo

schon verrückt, dass die Farben so gleich gemacht werden. Gut, dass die Gläser so schöne unterschiedliche Formen haben!

It worked, Kenny! :)

Such a pretty collection of glasses and I really like the high key. Nicely done for this challenge!

Cheers, Kenny !!! Very well captured; but difficult to choose what I want to drink on the B&W picture. With the colorful one this is easier lol !! Happy Saturday !

Oh, lecker !!!
... ich nehme das Rote !
... die bunte Version würde ich gern auch mit schwarzem Hintergrund sehen. Das müßte einen tollen Eyecatcher geben.

The high key works really well here. Adding to Heidis idea of a black background: I wonder how this would look inverted:-)
The colours in the original look quite poisonous;-)

Grey, grey, grey and grey instead of blue, yellow, red and green. Wonderful.

That's what I thought and the reason why I think I picked the wrong type of subject for a black and white challenge.

No, just colored water. I used the four different colors of food coloring I had. Wasn't sure which glass had which color, but it didn't really matter.

Thanks for including the color shot. Working in black and white is not easy because the colors may not translate as expected.

Very well arranged and photographed, Kenny. Very much like how the white backdrop compliments the shot. Faved for sure.

Excellent high key shot. If you wanted to change the tones on the coloured water, try the colour sliders in the black and white workspace on your photo editor. These are the instructions for Lightroom but most processors should have the feature. helpx.adobe.com/ca/lightroom/how-to/convert-photo-black-white.html

That would be fine for people that could tell the difference of the color shades, but since I can't, it would probably be useless for me to try. But, thanks for the suggestion.

Try it out! Using colour filters for bw photos you don't have to be able to see colours but the effect can be striking!
