Incoming Squall

The calm waters of Ardmucknish Bay are about to be disturbed by a brief spell of unsettled weather. When the tides here meet the vast amounts of fresh water being discharged from Loch Etive (just out of shot on the right), the waters become rough and difficult to sail.

Much better large I think.

A lovely image, Roger. You're right, the water fairly rushes through from Lock Etive. There was a very good pub (where we once stayed) near the bridge - I think it's now gone. It was known locally as "The Gluepot" because, before the bridge was built, the ferry could only operate at the peak or low of the tides and people were "stuck" there.

Many thanks George really appreciated, the Glue Pot is still in place but now renamed as the Oyster Inn and restaurant , The bridge was a railway bridge but they used a converted coach to take cars over one at a time in between regular rail services. it was converted to a road bridge when the branch line closed.
