(obligatory video with the birthday song coming, as soon as I have time to upload it) August 13 was my birthday, and I was officially 54 years old in 2011. Not having anything in particular planned other than for Kristin and Kolton to share my birthday with me, the day consisted of all sorts of fun activities, such as driving through the country and taking pictures of old abandoned houses, enjoying a birthday meal at Fatz, and some cool, refreshing treats at Rita's Italian Ice, buying some bread and going to the park to feed the ducks and geese, making some new friends at the park, shopping at Target for new clothes and some new toys for Kolton, taking a few shots of an old 19th Century country church, an out-of-business convenience store, and some historic old ruins beside a local library, enjoying vanilla ice cream topped with a chocolate shell dip at Dairy Queen, eating a Reese's Peanut Butter ice-cream cake, taking pictures of Kolton, Kristin and me together at home, going for a short stroll down the road to stage some "No Dumping" pictures, and taking a few pictures of the presents Kristin and Kolton got me for my birthday. It's the most unusual birthday I've ever experienced, and one of the most fun ever! (I'd love to be able to do it all again without having to wait another year for a birthday to roll around on the calendar.) What a fun time! (and I must be holding up okay- after all that activity, I still felt great at the end of the day!) May birthday 55 next year be just as fun, or more so! :)

Kolton decided that he liked Papa's Pina Colada Italian Ice much better than his Banana flavor, so we swapped. Unfortunately, mine was already half-gone by the time we switched, and Kolton had barely touched his Banana, so I had almost a whole Banana Italian Ice to myself and Kolton got short-changed.
