The kids were all very obedient when I told them I was doing a panoramic shot and to please not move, but little Valley is only a year old and didn't understand. Fortunely, he didn't wind up with two heads or three arms, but his movement as the camera was on him did do something strange to his eyes.

A quick "Christmas together" photo. Christmas 2023 goes down in the books as completed, although we did celebrate a little late because of a virus/flu bug going around. (and the folks we know who took the annual flu shot contracted this, too, so apparently someone missed the guess about what strain this year's shot should protect against.) (Austin wasn't able to be with us. He arrived home late just before Christmas and he got the bug last, so he was still home recovering)

So we tried and tried adjusting the background light so we wouldn't be quite so backlit, but in the end there was just too much light coming in from too many windows to be able to cut it all out, so we opted a few minutes later for a totally different angle, placing a much less bright background behind us.

An after Christmas gathering. (Because of a virus going around on our normal Christmas Eve Eve gathering, we opted to have our Christmas gathering after Christmas this year instead.) Lunch and opening of presents at great-grandmother Verna's house.

Baptizing my grandson

I had the unique privilege of being able to baptize my oldest grandson recently in a little country creek. It’s an experience I’ll never forget. Because of the height difference, I had to get him to stand in the deeper part of the water while his father and I stood on each side.
