Rita's wasn't a name I was familiar with until some great friends in Pennsylvania introduced me to the chain on a hot day in May or June of 2011. I must be either stupid, blind, or so focused on the highway when I drive that I'd never noticed the many Rita's locations near my home until I returned from my trip. On this date, we introduced Kristin and Kolton to Rita's for the first time. Although Kristin had been with me on a previous visit to Rita's, she'd never tried any of their wonderful icy-treats! Kolton's favorite wasn't the Banana we bought him, but Papa's Pina Colada. As no one else in my family seems to love coconut as much as I do, its nice to know that Kolton will be carrying on Papa's tradition of coconut cake, coconut ice cream, coconut cookies, and anything else coconut for a long time to come!
