Living in the Southern United States, we don't often get snowfall in the area. If we're lucky, we may get 6-8 inches of snow every 3 or 4 years, plus a few ice storms along the way. We received exactly 3 inches of snow in the area just before Valentine's Day, 2010. It was just enough snow to be pretty, make for some great snowball fighting, and for creating a few snowmen (okay, "snow-people," to be Politically Correct.) We never lost electrical power, the roads remained fairly passable, and the snow was all but melted by the next day, which leads me to the conclusion that 3 inches of snow is the "perfect" amount. lol
