My brother, Kristin, Kolton and I drove by the old elementary school where I learned so many things in life. I had stern, loving, caring teachers who did their best in helping even the most challenged of kids. The teachers didn't put up with disrespect of any kind and insisted that we learn and fully apply ourselves to anything that we set out to do. We learned that the world doesn't owe us a living, that we have to educate ourselves, apply ourselves, and make ourselves good prospective employees and business owners of the future. In the process, we were taught to be kind and caring for others, and to care about others even more than we cared about ourselves. We also learned to have a deep respect for God and appreciation of our Country. It was nothing like so many schools of today. Yes, maybe they were overly strict, but most of us turned out quite well, and by the time our twelve year experience was over we could read, write, think for ourselves, and we were employable. (As I said, it was nothing like the schools of today.)
