MoonMars 280718 3873crop

MoonMars 280718 3873crop
There was a luna eclipse visible in Australia early on the morning of 26/07/2018. My view was from the upstairs room at home (I was interested to see it but not keen enough to get dressed and drive to a better viewpoint). This is as the sunlight on the moon was shrinking This is a crop of a hand held shot with a P&S camera. The red light in the upper left is the planet Mars.

Hi Graham

Nice to see that you got it. Here it was far too cloudy.

Best Wishes, and a good weekend.

Thanks Peter. Here the moon descended into a haze a bit above the horizon just after it became fully dark. It slowly grayed out to invisibility in the haze and increasing dawn light while above the horizon.

You caught it well, given the equipment.

You did well, all considered, Graham. I was too lazy to get up to see it!

Thanks Diana. I only got to see it because I could without leaving the house. :-)
