Butcherbird

On our aerial, Queensland.
The Pied Butcherbird is widespread throughout large parts of mainland Australia. One of the species’ readily recognised aspects is its beautiful, haunting, flute-like song which may be given throughout the day and sometimes well into moonlit nights. Once heard, the song is difficult to forget, and it has been described as ‘one of the finest in the world’.

Willie Wagtail
Native to Australia, these birds flit around so quickly, and have sweet voices.
Small and mostly black, willie wagtails have almost entirely black upperparts and white underparts and eyebrow. The male and female have similar plumage. They have a fan-tail and a short slender bill.
Saturday challenge... Flies in the air. Didn't manage to catch this little one flying, they are so speedy!

Saturday challenge... shallow depth of field
Not entirely happy with the slightly blue ish background as it is a white wall. Tried to fix it in PicMonkey but not much difference. However, the colour of the Bougainvillea is very true. The background looks whiter when displayed on black.
