Tewantin Queenslander

Tewantin is the living history of Noosa, the original logging, fishing and tourist town. The Kabi Kabis' (local aboriginal tribe) name for Tewantin was Woolumba, meaning place of big water. Tewantin has retained much of the history of this area while still progressing with the times. The village has kept a strong country town community atmosphere with all services and facilities provided in the distinctive, fashionably upgraded business centre. There are so many features that make Tewantin unique. There are the old Queenslanders in the middle of town and a huge green park rolling down to the river. sunshinecoast-australia.com/suburb-profile-tewantin.html The Poinciana trees lining Poinciana Avenue are now flowering. 4/31 January Dark Green, 365 Days in Colour. 10 Green Bottles

Some Australian favourites here. Jacob's Creek, Barossa Valley, South Australia. Their winemaking tradition dates back to 1847 when Johann Gramp planted his first vineyard on the banks of Jacob's Creek. Jamiesons Run, Coonawarra, South Australia, Limestone Coast. The original Jamiesons run was a remote outback sheep station owned by the Chaffey Brothers in the mid 1800s . 8/31 January Dark Green, 365 Days in Colour.

Norfolk Pine

Our Jungle Backyard in the Noosa Hinterland in Queensland. This tree was planted in 2003. Norfolk Pine tree, Araucaria heterophylla. The first European known to have sighted Norfolk Island, and thus the Norfolk Island pine, Captain James Cook, in 1774, on his second voyage to the South Pacific on HMS Resolution. He named the island after the Duchess of Norfolk, wife of Edward Howard, 9th Duke of Norfolk (1685–1777). Wikipedia 9/31 January Dark Green, 365 Days in Colour.
