Marine City, Michigan

Marine City, Michigan
Not a Toronto house this time, but one from Marine City, Michigan, which is full of attractive buildings, as are many other towns in Michigan.

I knew there was something I was missing about this building and now you've revealed it to me, Maggs. Thanks. This is certainly Disneyesque.

Well illustrated! You certainly could have garnered some side change making brochure pictures of buildings!

A very attractive looking house. I wouldn't normally like the colour pink for a. house, but in this case it works very well with the white and grey!

Very well captured John.

Thanks, Keith. Maggs pointed out tat this has a distinct air of Walt Disney about it. It's remarkably well-preserved, too.

A very substantial and colourful house, John. The snow adds a nice touch.

This was quite an idyllic excursion, George. Marine City is on the St. Clair River, which the Canada-US border runs down the middle of. At the time there was an international car ferry between Marine City and Sombra, Ontario. After a pleasant drive along the river from Sarnia we crossed on the ferry, The ice was breaking up, the sun was bright, and the view was spectacular. And then we spent a fair time in Marine City oohing and aahing at all the fine buildings. Unfortunately, a few years later the Canadian ferry pier was destroyed by ice and the ferry company could not afford to rebuild.
