Doorway to the Incas

Doorway to the Incas
The Incas probably used stone and bronze implements to carve their stones which they fitted without using mortar. The best stone work was reserved for the temples. The walls get thinner as they get taller and are able to withstand the earthquakes.

Machu Picchu is believed to be the estate of a 15th-century Incan emperor. It is located at an altitude of 7,970 feet (2,430 meters) in the Andes mountains of Peru.
