London Thames Barrier (#0213)
A key goal for me on this trip, to see the Thames Barrier which is on the east side of London. Opened in 1984 to control storm surges which historically flooded from the North Sea up the Thames to London. There will be much more on this later….

Comparatively speaking, this is right on my doorstep, and yet I've never visited the area. I wonder if this barrier will stand up to severe flooding that is predicted for the future.
