San Jose Diridon depot (#0101)

San Jose Diridon depot (#0101)
The San Jose Diridon rail station, serving Amtrak, Caltrain, and ACE rail, along with various bus and other transit lines. The station opened as the Cahill Depot of the Southern Pacific in 1935 and is considered to be Italian Renaissance Revival style. The station was restored in 1994 and renamed Diridon for a former county supervisor. Like most U.S. Amtrak/rail stations, the station felt somewhat worn, but serviceable. It's a pity they didn't use a more muted paint color instead of this pale pink-beige. The fresco would show up much better instead of looking like mud. But, of course they didn't consult with me. ;-(
