Mariposa, CA (#0537)

Downtown Mariposa, CA. Based on the costs of accommodations in Yosemite, I had decided to stay just outside the park and had chosen Mariposa due to how it fit with plans for the parts of the park that I wanted to visit. It turned out to be a wonderful choice. Despite the fact that its economy is almost entirely dependent on tourist traffic to Yosemite, it felt like a typical small. rural town -- clerks in the stores and restaurants were very friendly, and it was pleasant to just walk around in the evening.
