Wupatki Nat Mon Wukoki ruins (1604)

Wukoki ruins at Wupatki National Monument. I've been to Wupatki about three times and this is where I inevitably end up spending the most time. It's somewhat distant from the ranger station and from the largest ruins, and thus has very few visitors (the person in the picture is a friend who was traveling with me). I'm also attracted to it because it feels as if it is on the edge of what was the inhabited area. From this point east is a very flat stretch of high desert with few places that would have worked for water, agriculture, and protection.
