SF North Beach City Lights Books (1252)
Famous City Lights Books, in North Beach. The book store has a reputation as being the center of critically-informed perspectives on culture and politics in the city and more broadly. The name of the store was a homage to a Chaplin film; the store opened in 1953. See the Wikipedia on the store for a good history of it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Lights_Bookstore
