Campground in Chisos Basin. Because this is much higher in altitude than other campgrounds, it's the best place to camp in the summer.

It's been a long time since we were there. The winds at night were so strong that we thought it was going to take down our tent. I hiked up Casa Grande on our last day - great views from there.

The first time I camped there was during monsoon season. Late afternoon/early evening, every day, would be severe thunderstorms roaring across the mountain tops for a couple of hours. They were quite frightening from inside a tent.

We slept in our station wagon the first night - three young children, wife, me, and an Alaskan malamute. Not fun.
