Griffith Park Old Zoo (2599)

Former LA City Zoo. This zoo closed in 1965, with the new zoo opening just a short distance away, still in Griffith Park. Much of the structure of the old zoo was built with the assistance of the WPA (Workers Progress Administration). This cage was in a back area and thus would have not been used for animals that were on display.
