San Lucas Bridge 1148a

Bridge over the Salinas river on the San Lucas - Lockwood road. The bridge was built in 1913 and is still in operation, though too narrow for two lanes of traffic.

This and other historic bridges in the area seem to suggest that traffic in the area was fairly heavy in the early 1900's. Since farming was less mechanized at that time, the populatoin in these rural areas was probably higher than it is now.
