Spectacular Rustgill

Spectacular Rustgill
Growing in my garden. It has been very wet recently and a number of fungi have appeared. The difficulty is catching them in good condition, in reasonable light and before something starts to eat them.

Lovely specimen. It is a good year for fungi in England. If you find one that has been nibbled but have not got it in your photo collection it does not really matter. This one is great.

MAGGGGGNIFICENT!!!!! What a gorgeous mushroom!!! I love the texture on the cap, what a nice find. I'm also impressed that you were able to identify it. I will try for about 5 min and that's it, there are just too many species that look exactly the same and cannot be told apart unless a microscope is used. Boo! So good on you! :D This is a beauty!

My ability to identify fungi is very limited. I use an app (Seek by iNaturalist) on my phone which allows me to scan plants and animals from different angles and identifies them.
