Saturday 8 December 2018 (1220) – Buses in Market Street, Ely. Two Stagecoach East (Cambus) double deckers. 19603 (AE10 BXR), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Trident new in April 2010 in corporate fleet livery and 15458 (AE09 GYF), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD new in March 2009 in green livery. In the background is R W. Dew and Sons of Somersham YW14 FHT, an Alexander Dennis Enviro200 new in July 2014 to Henderson Travel of Blantyre, Lanarkshire. Part of the overhead Christmas decorations are reflected in the windscreen of 19603, HO HO HO!

Left is Big Green Bus Company LR52 KWO, a Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident new to Metroline (London) in February 2003 as their TP372. (Next trip was the 1010 service 114 to Addenbrookes Hospital). Right is Stagecoach East (Cambus) 15958 (YN14 OXJ), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD new in May 2014. (Next trip was the 1000 service 13 to Haverhill).

It is a partially open top Wrightbus Gemini III bodied Volvo B5TL that was new in May 2018 – one of six such buses I believe operating at Cambridge.

Wednesday 12 December 2018 (1035) – Stagecoach East (Cambus) 13813 (BV18 YAA) seen turning from Bridge Street to Round Church Street, Cambridge when working the City Sightseeing Cambridge Tour. It is a partially open top Wrightbus Gemini III bodied Volvo B5TL that was new in May 2018 – one of six such buses I believe operating at Cambridge. St. John’s College Chapel dominates the background. Adding a bit of a seasonal flair is the Christmas tree in the hairdressers on the right.

Wednesday 12 December 2018 (1039) – Stagecoast East (Cambus) 10791 (SN66 VZO) seen in Bridge Street, Cambridge bound for the city centre when working the Park and Ride service from Madingley Road. It is an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC new in December 2016.

Wednesday 19 September 2007 (approx 1145) – Stagecoach in Cambridge 18341 (AE55 DKD), an Alexander bodied Dennis Trident new in November 2005, queuing with lots of other buses in Emmanuel Street, Cambridge. This batch of buses carries a series of rear end adverts for the company’s different multi-ride tickets. ‘T’ shaped side adverts are carried in frames and allow quick change of the display.

Wednesday 19 September 2007 (approx 1350) – Stagecoach in Cambridge 18336 (AE55 DJV), an Alexander bodied Dennis Trident new in November 2005, queuing with lots of other buses in Emmanuel Street, Cambridge. This batch of buses carries a series of rear end adverts for the company’s different multi-ride tickets. ‘T’ shaped side adverts are carried in frames and allow quick change of the display. The one here is for Stagecoach itself. Similar bus 18341 (AE55 DKD) leads.

Sunday 24 May 1998 - Stagecoach Cambus operated the Park and Ride services to the annual Mildenhall Air Fete for a number of years. The buses from the car parking site at Newmarket travelled along the A11 and then through Barton Mills village to reach Mildenhall. The return journey used a different route. The company drafted in drivers from other locations to supplement the locally based staff. Some of the out of area drivers played it safe by returning to Newmarket via the route they had used for their inward journey. Northern Counties Palatine bodied Volvo Olympian 527 (P527 EFL) was quite possibly being driven by a seconded driver when seen travelling between Mildenhall and Barton Mills when running back to Newmarket. It was new in October 1996. When Stagecoach introduced its national fleet numbering system the bus became 16527 and in 2007 was converted to partial open top assigned to the Stratford-upon-Avon depot of Midland Red South to work sightseeing tours. Later still it moved to Stagecoach South for use on tree lopping duties.

Monday 6 August 2001 (approx. 1420) – Stagecoach Cambus double deckers in Drummer Street bus station in Cambridge. Left is 606 (P806 GMU), a Northern Counties bodied Volvo Olympian that was new in September 1996 to Stagecoach East London as their VN6. After service on Transport for London contracts it was cascaded to Cambus. Right is 704 (X704 JVV), a Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident new in December 2000.

Sunday 25 May 1997 - The annual Air Fete held at RAF Mildenhall attracted vast numbers of visitors many of which used the Park and Ride shuttles with Cambus main contractor providing the buses for a number of years. Different routes were used for the inward and outward Newmarket Park and Ride shuttles so it was unusual to see a Newmarket bound vehicle travelling through Barton Mills. I suspect the driver was from outside the area and was playing it safe by returning via the same route he used on the inward run.

Saturday 14 December 1996 – Stagecoach Cambus 319 (P319 EFL), an Alexander PS bodied Volvo B10M-55 new in November 1996, seen on a frosty morning at the outstation site at Flint Cross midway between Fowlmere and Barley (A505/B1368). The morning sun had already warmed and cleared the front windscreens.

Wednesday 20 or Thursday 21 July 2005 – Stagecoach Cambus 29111 (F111 HVK) was now a driver training vehicle. Some of the normal passenger seats had been removed and tables fitted for classroom work. The instructor has special seats near the front to monitor the driver’s progress. It is not too clear but just above the side mounted turning indicator there is a suction mirror (coloured orange) so the instructor is able to observe the nearside of the vehicle when out on the road. A Leyland Lynx that was new to Busways in the North-East of England in February 1989 which was seen parked in Bury St. Edmunds bus station.
