Friday 14 April 2023 (1212) – Red Eagle Buses Limited of Dinton near Aylesbury LX11 AVV picking up in High Street North, Dunstable when working the 1205 service 34 from Dunstable (Asda) to St. Albans. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D that had been new to Stagecoach East London (36265) in April 2011.

Friday 14 April 2023 (1212) – High Street North, Dunstable. Left is Red Eagle Buses Limited of Dinton near Aylesbury LX11 AVV, an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D that had been new to Stagecoach East London (36265) in April 2011, working the 1205 service 34 from Dunstable (Asda) to St. Albans. Two Arriva Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo B7RLEs follow on. They were 3957 (KX12 GZU) (new in June 2012) working Busway service A to Luton and Luton Airport and 3896 (KX11 PZZ) (new in August 2011) working Busway service Z to Luton via Houghton Regis.

Left is Red Eagle Buses Limited of Dinton near Aylesbury LX11 AVV, an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D that had been new to Stagecoach East London (36265) in April 2011, working the 1205 service 34 from Dunstable (Asda) to St. Albans. Right is Arriva 3957 (KX12 GZU), a Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo B7RLE new in June 2012, working Busway service A to Luton and Luton Airport. Tucked in behind 3957 was similar bus 3896 (KX11 PZZ) working Busway service Z to Luton via Houghton Regis.

Friday 14 April 2023 (1212) – Red Eagle Buses Limited of Dinton near Aylesbury LX11 AVV turning from High Street North to West Street in Dunstable when working the 1205 service 34 from Dunstable (Asda) to St. Albans. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D that had been new to Stagecoach East London (36265) in April 2011.

Friday 14 April 2023 (1150) – Red Eagle Buses Limited of Dinton near Aylesbury GX57 BXH parked in Court Drive, Dunstable having arrived as the 1030 service 61 from Aylesbury. It would work the 1200 service 61 back tio Aylesbury. The journey takes 65 minutes. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200 bodied Dart which had been new to Southdown PSV in January 2008. It had also been operated by Faresaver of Chippenham where it carried one of their cherished registrations FA54 VER representing the company name. In the background is the local Wetherspoons establishment named after Gary Cooper, the American movie star (1920s to 1950s) 'High Noon' etc etc. His father was brought up in Houghton Regis near Dunstable and emigrated to the United States in the late 1890s. His English mother wanted him to have an English education and so for a few years he attended Dunstable Grammar School later returning to the U.S.

Friday 8 September 2023 (1019) – Red Eagle Buses Limited 33 (YY15 GDK) seen on The Ridgeway, Marshalswick when working the 1000 trip of St. Albans town service S6. I travelled on this bus to St. Peter’s Street. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D new to Central Taxis, Felling in May 2015. In the late 1990s my younger daughter Jane attended the University of Hertfordshire and, together with a number of other students, rented one of the apartments in the background.

Friday 8 September 2023 (1019) – On board Red Eagle Buses Limited 33 (YY15 GDK) as it departed The Ridgeway, Marshalswick when working the 1000 trip of St. Albans town service S6. I travelled on this bus to St. Peter’s Street. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D new to Central Taxis, Felling in May 2015.

Friday 8 September 2023 (1028) – St. Peter’s Street, St. Albans I had just travelled on Red Eagle Buses Limited 33 (YY15 GDK) from Marshalswick as it worked the 1000 trip of St. Albans town service S6. It an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D new to Central Taxis, Felling in May 2015. Standing ahead of that is Sullivan Buses E59 (LK08 DXW) taking a break between trips on service 84 which runs to Potters Bar. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Trident that had been new to Metroline (TE884) in July 2008. Completing the scene is an Arriva single decker working service 301 to Stevenage (Lister Hospital).

Friday 8 September 2023 (1028) – A continental atmosphere in St. Peter’s Street, St. Albans on one of the hot September days. I had just travelled on Red Eagle Buses Limited 33 (YY15 GDK) from Marshalswick as it worked the 1000 trip of St. Albans town service S6. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D new to Central Taxis, Felling in May 2015. Standing ahead of that is Sullivan Buses E59 (LK08 DXW) taking a break between trips on service 84 which runs to Potters Bar. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Trident that had been new to Metroline (TE884) in July 2008. In the distance (right) are two Arriva buses and another Red Eagle bus.

Friday 8 September 2023 (1040) – Red Eagle Buses Limited 33 (YY15 GDK), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D new to Central Taxis, Felling in May 2015, seen in St. Peter’s Street, St. Albans working a trip of town service S6. The imposing 19th century Town Hall and Museum building forming a backcloth.

Seen in working town service S1. In the distance on the right is the Medieval Clock Tower constructed in the early 1400s said to have been a protest against the power of the nearby abbey to regulate timekeeping in the town. Beyond this is St. Albans Cathedral (officially the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St. Alban).
